The Emerson House is currently closed for the season. We will reopen on April 22nd, 2025.
Welcome to the Emerson House
Located in Concord, Massachusetts, the Ralph Waldo Emerson House is open to the public for guided tours from April through October.
A National Historic Landmark (NHL), this family home has been kept much as it was when Ralph Waldo & Lidian Jackson Emerson lived here with their children more than 150 years ago. A step across the threshold is a step back in time.
Surrounded by family relics in the rooms where Emerson hosted his friends and penned his most celebrated works, you will feel the energy of his incredible mind and warmth of his generous spirit.
Donations to the RWEMA help cover maintenance and repair costs of the Emerson House and grounds and we are very grateful for your support.
