Tune into PBS on Monday, March 30th for the premiere episode of the latest Ken Burns collaboration: a three-part docuseries on Henry David Thoreau.
Thoreau was a close friend of Ralph Waldo Emerson and his family and built his famed cabin on their land at Walden Pond. He lived with the Emersons in their Concord home a number of times through the years, and this documentary was filmed in part at the Emerson House.
Narrated by George Clooney and with Thoreau voiced by Jeff Goldblum, this will be the first nationally broadcast biography of the man behind the myth, exploring Thoreau’s “most far-reaching and forward-thinking ideas: justice for all human beings, the health of our planet and the species it sustains, the quest for a meaningful life, the importance of standing up for one’s beliefs in the public square.”
